Tues 27th July, 2010 - Day 60 - Broome

Today was our last day in Broome & we are very sad to be leaving this beautiful place. I could easily give up the cold weather in Mudgee for this tropical oasis. The wet season might be another thing. The temperature doesn't get much above 35C, however the humidity is very high. Of course there is also the possibility of a hurricane. Apparently the lightening shows during 'the wet' are something to be seen.
The Tarangau Caravan Park, where we have resided for the last two weeks is not much to look at, however it is a nice quite park & we would certainly stay here again.
Preparation for our departure involved washing clothes, shopping and emptying our dunny cassette as well as packing away our outside table & chairs etc, into the Patrol.
We are heading for Eighty Mile Beach tomorrow, a distance of 378km. The last 10km are dirt & we are not sure how the surface will be. This part of the trip will be slow, probably no more than 60km per hour. Hopefully I will be able to do a little fishing here.
