Rising from bed at about 6.30 am I got myself dressed in preparation for photos of The Marbles at sunrise. The sun came up at about 7 15 am & I snapped a couple of pretty good photos.
We had had a good night’s sleep with no heating in the van as the camping area had no power or water.
After hitching up, Grandee & I departed Devils Marbles heading for Banka Banka Station where we intended staying over- night. On arrival at the Station we found a sign on the gate “No Vacancies” however there were no vans in the camp ground & a woman was mowing the grass on a ride on. We guessed we were too early to book in, so we decided, after a leisurely morning tea to travel another 60km to Renner Springs.
When we arrived at Renner Springs we decided to refuel in readiness for an early departure the next day. The price of diesel there was over $1,90 per litre, the most expensive so far on the trip.
Grandee did her usual job of booking us in & we were shown to our site & hooked up to water & electricity by a volunteer who had his mobile home set up at the entrance to the camping area.
The park was quite picturesque, with a small artificial lake fed by a large windmill. There were geese on this lake & we were warned that if they came at us we should aggressively hunt them or they may attack us. We had no problems with them.
I later checked out the amenities & found they were the worst I have ever seen. Thank goodness we have our own shower & toilet. Of course Grandee didn’t go near them. I think John Nelson is needed up here to do an inspection.
Thanks to those who are leaving comments. Yes we have received them.
