Fri 25th June 2010 - Day 28

It was an early rise this morning, as we were required to assemble at the Yellow Water’s Cruise pick up point at the front of the caravan park, by 6.25am. Then it was off to the wharf where the boats awaited to depart our cruise at 6.45am.

While Rex & I were waiting on the boat for the remainder of the passengers to board, we noticed Jane & Peter (the dancing couple from Forbes that we met at Katherine) were also boarding. Off course we waved to them and they saw us so then we all sat together and caught up.

The sunrise cruise was just amazing. There is soooooo much birdlife around on the water, also waterlilies and not to mention the odd crocodile or two. Rex has taken some great photos, a few of which he will publish. The cruise lasted 2hours then the buses took us back to the caravan park for our breakfast at the Bistro, which of course was yummy.

When we arrived back Jane went and asked Jan & Colin (they did not go on the cruise), who are part of their travelling party, if they would like to join us, which they did. So we sat and talked to them for quite a while. Then it was back to our caravans.

Rex checked out his mobile phone to try and get it working properly, however to no avail – looks like a new phone. I did a bit of housework then the ironing and gave Rex a haircut.

About 3.00pm we went for a walk with Jane, Peter, Jan & Colin to the Cultural Centre, which is only about 1klm each way from the Caravan Park.

Then it was back to the vans and of course it was Happy Hour time. Then time for Rex to cook some chicken for us while I made a yummy salad. Now we have had our showers and you guessed it Rex is in bed while I am finishing this and yes I am going now as it is 9.10pm. I know it is a hard life – but hey someone has to do it and believe me up this way there are a lot of someone’s doing it. We will try not to weaken!!!

  1. Hi guys,

Sounds like you have happy hour whenever you feel like it – I am really jealous. Keep up the hard work. And I can smell the bbq’s down here in Sydney!!!!

It is cold and rainy down here and has been all week. So we are glad you are enjoying the weather etc etc etc.

The pictures are wonderful – I hope you enjoy the sunset as much, it is good that you have met some fellow travellers with similar interests as you guys – it sometimes means a little something different to talk about.

As I read the blog, I am thinking you are fitting heaps into each day – you sound tired when you are ready to retire.

No real news from here – same old, same old.

Cheers, it is nearly happy hour here too – it is 11.10am on Sat and I have a mountain of ironing and cooking to do before drinks.

    Luv ya, Janice

  2. Great to catch up on the reading of your blog. Sounds as though you are having a great time. Gee Grandee, you are certainly enjoying that "happy hour" - you go girl!!!

We have had a nice lazy weekend as we have had some rain, so Justin has had the weekend off, which has been really nice.

We headed into Gilgandra on Friday night for Will's disco and you will be proud to hear that he won "best dressed boy" in his smashing Buzz Lightyear outfit - photos to follow!!!

I took both boys to the doctors on Friday, however he didn't really do much for them. Mitchie really isn't well. He has had 2 chucks this afternoon and is doing a lot of coughing, which I think must be hurting the poor little fellows throat!! Hopefully he will be better tomorrow.

Best go - we have taped Masterchef, so can't wait to watch it. I am guessing that you aren't getting Masterchef up there - am I correct?? If so, I will have to give you an update!! It is sooo wonderful, we just love it!!

    Speak soon.
    Lots of love, Tonixxx
