Sun 5th September, 2010 - Day 100 - Walpole

Our first stop this morning was The Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk. This walk goes up through the canopy of the Tingle forest, with the highest point of the walk being 40 metres. We could feel the swaying movement as we progressed along the walk.

We then completed a boardwalk through the forest viewing the base of these amazing giant Tingle trees.

Our next stop was a short 'art' circuit which featured a huge mirror wall at the entrance.

Then it was on to the Circular Pool which features foaming rapids. The water is a dark coffee colour which is produced by sap leaching from the trees & being washed into the river.

Our last stop for the day was a circuit walk to the Giant Tingle Tree, the size of which is hard to show photographically. This tree is almost 25 metres in circumference and is regarded as one of the ten largest living things on the planet.
After this walk we returned to the van as the day was coming to a close
