Sun 15th August, 2010 - Day 79 - Kalbarri

After breakfast and packing a picnic lunch we headed out to the Kalbarri National Park - Northern section. Here we paid a park entrance fee of $5.00 for our vehicle.

Our first stop was The Loop, Nature's Window. This was a very nice walk resulting in Nature's Window at the end which was not a disappointment. Here we witnessed the switchback course of the Murchison River and a natural rock arch that frames the upstream view. We did not complete the whole loop. We took lots of photos here. Once back at the car park we ate our picnic lunch.

Then we headed to the Murchison River Z Bend. This was a moderately easy walk to a spectacular rock lookout overlooking the river. From here we continued on down towards the river, however we only continued until we could see the river from a good advantage point, took out photos and then headed back to the car park.

From here it was back to the caravan to shower and head off to Mass at 5.00pm in a very interesting little Church. The Priest, Fr Robert O’Bryan was just wonderful. He went around all the visitors finding out where we all hailed from. Of course the congregation consisted of more visitors than locals.

After Mass we went to Finlay's Seafood BBQ for dinner. This was a bit of a disappointment for us as we were told that they served really good meals. The place itself was something very different.

Then home to watch Dancing With The Stars.
