Today we travelled 80km south east of Midland to visit the small town of York. This town is the oldest inland town in WA, and as we expected was very tourist oriented. It was a pretty place with many impressive old buildings. Grandee & I walked up around the main street then of course we inspected the local catholic church. After this it was time for lunch which we ate in a small rotunda in a local park.
After lunch we drove up the main street where we saw a sign to a swinging bridge. We followed the sign & found a nice recreation area along the Avon River. We strolled across the suspension bridge, then followed a track along the pretty stream. After the short walk, we returned & then inspected the old Anglican church which was on this side of the river. Then it was back across the bridge & into the Patrol. We drove around the town for a while & then set off back to Midland.
Shame on you Poppy putting a photo of the Anglican Church on your blog page!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Anglican Church certainly doesn't look as impressive as the Catholic Church!!!
