Back into Perth today & after alighting the train Grandee & I walked down into the City where we caught a bus, which conveyed us to Kings Park. For those of you who don't know, this beautiful Park covers hundreds of hectares. The park includes many lovely views of the City & suburbs as well as the Swan River. The War Memorial is in the park and has the names of the thousands of WA men & women who lost their lives during all the wars. The park also includes the Botanical Gardens which includes in it's displays, all the wild-flowers from the different regions.
Whilst strolling I was confronted by a woman who had been sitting opposite us during the train trip. She said she & her husband were caravanners & had seen us somewhere along the way, however they could not remember where. We teamed up with this lovely couple, John & Dianne who were from Taree, & spent the rest of the time in the park, as well as the trip back to Midland with them. They were staying at another caravan park & we parted company after getting off the train.
We spent happy hour with our neighbours Kevin & Dell and Jim & Anne who are from Bundaberg Queensland. I asked them if they knew Jim Killhen, whom I knew from school & had left Mudgee thirty odd years ago. I was amazed to hear that Kevin knew him; he said he used to play tennis with him. I also asked about Tony Gonninhan, who I knew had also gone to Bundaberg at about the same time as Jim. Kevin said the name rang a bell but he could not place him.
