Our first stop was to re-fuel at Halls Creek. When we arrived we found a queue of vans & motor homes at the diesel pumps at the rear of the service station. I think we had to wait about 20 minutes before we could fill up. It was amazing to see so many cars & RVs at this sma
ll outback town. We also saw our first police highway patrol car for our entire trip, here.
We arrived at the 24hr Mary Pool Camp Ground at about 10am & even at this early hour we found dozens of vans already occupying the best sites. We guessed some of them had probably overstayed their 24hr limit.
After doing a couple of laps of the water- soaked ground, we finally picked our sites & set up for the day. A lot of rain had fallen here & there were large puddles of water scattering the area. This was a lovely picturesque setting & after having a cuppa with Mick & Maureen & ou
r neighbours David & Carol, Grandee & I went for a stroll down to the Mary River which skirts the Ground. This proved to be a lovely walk & I snapped a few nice photos.
After lunch we finished our card game of ‘Sevens’ which Maureen won. Then

we went on to the best of three for Articulate, which the boys won by a very narrow margin. The boys then did our BBQ dinner which we consumed together after which we retired for the night.
