I,m afraid the sites here at The Oasis Big 4 Caravan Park leave much to be desired. We are packed in like sardines & the sites consist of coarse gravel. There are no sullage drains so the grey water from the van runs onto the road.
After lunch we visited the Old Timers Mine which is an old mine which has been set up for tourists. It was very interesting wandering through the tunnels and reading about the early days of opal mining. The tour finished with David (an employee) giving us demonstrations of some of the machinery which is used for tunnelling. The opals are chipped out by hand.
After quite a bit of searching we found the underground Catholic Chorch which was well worth the visit, then it was back to caravans to get the washing in before the night air starts to settle on the washing
Nice STACK HAT Grandee!!!
