Sat 2nd October, 2010 - Day 127 - Week 19 - Halls Gap

Our first stop this morning was the Tourist Information Centre to obtain a map of the best walks for the time we have here.

With our lunch packed we headed off to the Reed Lookout . From this magnificent Lookout we had breathtaking views over Victoria Valley, Lake Wartook and the Mt Difficult Range. From the car park we walked the 2lkm return track through outcrops and a stringybark forest to the Balaconies lookout which provides panoramic views over the Victoria Valley.

Then onto MacKenzie Falls car park where we ate our lunch. After lunch we did the MacKenzie Falls 2km return walk, descending 257 steps to the bottom, where we sat and enjoyed the beautiful surrounds. Then it was time to climb back up the steps. Once at the top we went to the car park via the Broken Falls Lookout.

Our final stop was the Boroka Lookout. From here we had spectacular views of the Wonderland and Mt William Ranges, Fyans Valley and Lake Bellfield.

  1. After all that walking and stepping I bet you were ready for happy hour!

What a nice surprise to have Linda & Neil call in. You guys are certainly doing it tough - visiting and having visitors come to you.

Just wonderful - I am very jealous.

Well, take care, luv ya Jan

Just to let you know - it has rained all long week-end here in Sydney. Only the top of the boat got wet!
