We were over at Ron & Lyn's house by 9.00am, they are about 20 minutes from our caravan park. Ron & Lyn spent the whole day showing us some of the sights around Adelaide. Their son, Michael, from Sydney also came with us for the day.
First up we dropped off the Patrol for a 110,000klm service, which Ron had previously arranged for us. Then we continued on with Ron, Lyn & Michael to the Monarto Zoo, about 60klms from Adelaide.
Once at the Zoo, of course it was time morning tea. With this over we caught the Zu-loop Shuttle Bus. Monarto is a new concept combining an open-range zoo with a natural wilderness sanctuary that plays a vital role in breeding programs for the threatened species.Safari tours depart regularly and drive through habitats to view cheetah, giraffe, lions, Southern White rhinoceros, meerkats and much more.
Back to the car and Ron headed to Hahndorf. This small town was originally settled by German immigrants before Adelaide City was settled. Here we consumed a delicious lunch at the Hahndorf Inn. Then it was a walk up and down the main street of this fascinating village before devouring an ice cream and heading back to Adelaide.
Ron dropped us at the auto repairers to collect our Patrol after which we headed back to the caravan.
