Sat 10th July, 2010 - Day 43 - Week 7

This was yet another leisure day with Rex, Maureen & me going for a walk up to the Reception area and taking some photos. Then it was an early lunch and we head off to have a look around the very small township. The Fitzroy River Lodge Resort certainly does not reflect the township.

After stopping at the Information Centre, only to find that it was closed, we headed out to Geikie Gorge to embark on our cruise which departed at 3.00pm. This was a 1hr cruise and was very enjoyable. The Gorge walls were absolutely amazing with their different formations and colours, also there were a lot of crocs to be seen.

Then it was back to the Resort and of course off to Happy Hour with the people we met while at the Resort. After this Maureen, Mick, Rex and I had dinner together at our van. It was just beautiful sitting outside under our awning enjoying our meal. It is hard to believe that it is sooooo cold down Mudgee way, O and don't forget the rain. We have been using the air conditioner (on cold of course) up here.
