Today was a ‘girl’s day out’ shopping & as a result I was left at home to have a ‘boys day in’ with Tom & Harry.
First up was rides in the hire go-carts which proved to be a lot of fun for the boys . I had plenty of exercise following them around the park.
After the go-carts we had ice creams which we enjoyed very much.
Next was lunch which we had back at the caravan. Tommy & I had chicken sandwiches & Harry had cheese sticks.
After lunch we went to the airport where we thought we might see some big jets, however we were disappointed to find that there would be no arrivals until around 4pm; as it was only about 2pm we were not going to hang around waiting for that. I decided we would have a look around the passenger areas & I was checked for explosives. We spent about half an hour or so at the airport & we then returned to the caravan park. On arrival at the entrance to the park Tommy told me that Harry was asleep & sure enough there he was, dead to the world. Tommy said ‘don’t wake him Poppy, he will be very cranky’!! I said I would have to wake him as we had to leave Dan’s Cruiser outside the park & walk back to the caravan, When I woke him, he was a little annoyed however he soon came good & we walked back to our site.
Whilst waiting for the girls to come home from their shopping. I shouted the boys some chocolate bars which they consumed eagerly.
Eventually the girls arrived with lots of parcels which included books & DVDs for the boys, footwear & undies for me & amongst Grandee's purchases was a nice red jacket for her. Dan brought home a couple of bottles of wine for me which she told me were for looking after the boys. These will be consumed at our ‘Happy Hours’.
For dinner Tuesday, we,( including Mick & Maureen), went to a restaurant in The Alice town centre. Tommy & Harry sat on each side of me & consumed some of their crumbed chicken meals. The left overs were eaten by the rest of us. Harry was a bundle of laughs all night. As the main section of the restaurant was full we had to eat in an outside covered area. Thank goodness it was heated as Alice is cold at night. Actually it has been colder here early morning than it has been in Mudgee.
After a teary farewell we went to our respective accommodation. Dan & Co were to leave early Wednesday morning for ‘Mittiebah’ which is over 1000kms distance & they needed to get back in the one day as Dan had to prepare for the ‘Brunette Downs ‘ Centenary Races, which are to be held this weekend.
We had a lovely few days with Dan, Sophie & the boys & now sadly, it was over.
Some great photos Poppy Rex, glad to hear everyone is having fun - shopping would be my pick though. A big drive for the travellers - not the old farts though.
ReplyDeleteIt is cold at night here too Rex. I went back to the doctor in St. Leonards for a tune up today - I feel much better too.
So cheers, will chat later. Love reading about the adventures - where do you find the time to give such details... Luv ya, Janice & crew
