Hello Everyone
Well, what a day we had here at Ayers Rock.
We arrived at The Rock by 10.15am and joined The Marla Tour at the base of The Rock. We visited the 'Learning Cave', the 'Men's Cave', the 'Women's Cave', the 'Kitchen, the 'Elderly Cave' & what is called a quite place, the 'Waterhole'. This tour was dedicated to the 'Marla Tribe' and of course was very interesting.
It was amazing to be so close to The Rock. Yesterday from a distance the rock looked like a huge pile of sand, however when one gets much closer to it, it is completely different. There are so many caves and quite a lot of erosion on The Rock. There were not a lot of climbers on The Rock.
From The Rock we went to the Cultural Centre and had morning tea at mid-day then we went to The Olgas which is also amazing. Here we walked the 1.1klm walk to the Valley of The Winds 1st Lookout. After returning from this walk we consumed our lunch about 2.00pm by now, then we drove to the Walpa Gorge. This was another wonderful walk approx 2.4klm.
As you can see we had some exercise today arriving back at the caravans at 5.00pm feeling very tired.
Sarah, U. Rex has put a comment to your comment in the blog. Thank you very much for your interest, we love to receive the comments or e-mails. This way we feel that we are in touch with our family and friends. Yes, I have been taking care of U.Rex and he is certainly much better.
Therese & John, thank you for your hamper, which we have started enjoying. Rex loves the chips and the chocolates. The fruit/chocolate biscuits have all been consumed and the assorted creams are nearly all gone. Once again very thoughtful of you.
Janice & Malcolm the camera is performing very well and is coming in very handy. Once again very thoughtful and thank you.
