When we arrived at the walk car park we had morning tea as we didn’t want to carry the thermos etc with us as it would have added too much weight to the backpacks.
Slowly climbing from rock to rock we made our way up to the plateau, where the going was considerably easier. The landscape changed with every step & the vista was amazingly beautiful. The digital cameras

area called ‘The Garden Of Eden’, which was an oasis in this hostile environment. The photos will tell more of the story.
At approximately 12.30pm we found a spot on the track that was sheltered and consumed our sandwiches etc. Mick was amazed at the amount of gear I had in my pack. There was a first aid kit, track pants for me, an extra jacket for Grandee and a cb radio etc. I found the backpack caused me no discomfort at all & I hardly knew it was there, in fact I am sure it improved my stature & I had no forced rests due to back ache.

After more walking we stated to descend towards the carpark where we arrived & found we had done the trek in the alotted time of 3.5 hours.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU BOTH!!!!!!!!!
Good morning, great to know that Rex is better – well he sounds ok. I think he was putting it on ………….
It was great to talk to you this morning. Now only if I can get this stupid comment to work!
How exciting for you both – to be miles way. My comment from last Friday was lost in ‘IT’ heaven & I can’t remember what I was telling you. Something about wishing you a safe journey etc etc etc.
Photo at Tamara’s 28th Birthday last Thursday at Nirello’s Blacktown.
We went to Haberfield yesterday – Mal & I – to check out the new building at Sarah & Paul’s place – the rooms are there, the garage nearly has a roof which is great so they can then put stuff init. The dog is at a kennel at Dural (she was locked up in the hall at times), the air-con isn’t working & it is freezing. All in all, I think they were lucky that I had the op as Sarah HAD to look after me last week and Paul was in Tassie.
Just had a thought – stick close to Rex Denise, when we were up in Alice – in 2000 – a really suntanned lady came up to Malcolm and asked “you wanna a friend for the night?”.
Love to you both, hi to Mick & Maureen.
